Operational Ministries
Keeping our parish running and fulfilling our mission day by day
Operational ministries include all the ministries that deal with operational and administrative aspects of the parish. They include: facilities, facilities maintenance, business and financial operations, and office management. The Director of Operations oversees all of these ministries.

Prior to joining St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in February 2005, Fred held a number of trust department management positions with various banks, the latests of which was J.P. Morgan Chase. He also does volunteer work as a member of the Finance and School Committees for his home parish, Our Lady of Ransom. Fred's interests include bicycling, reading, professional football, and spending time with his family, girlfriend Debie, son Matt, and grandson Carlos. They try to get away to the Jersey Shore as often as possible. They currently reside in Montgomery County.
Business Manager
The Business Manager is responsible for the financial matters of the parish including collection counters, deposits, and diocesan financial reporting. The Business Manager is directly responsible for overseeing the coordinators for Bingo and Collection Counters.

Mike joined St. Mary's in 1962. He first became involved with the Men's Club and has since served in various ways; primarily in financial & administrative ministries. After graduating from St. John's (1-12 grades), he went on to receive a B.S. in Accounting from St. Joseph's University. He worked for Ford Motor Company and AMTRAK in the accounting an financial analysis fields before retiring in 1996. Mike and his wife, Dot, have four children. Mike and Dot enjoy traveling nad spending time with their three grandchildren.
Bingo
A group of parishioners organizes Bingo, which is held every Friday at 5:00pm in Horner Hall. Volunteers assist in many ways: setting up, cleaning up, selling tickets, calling numbers, preparing and selling food. The proceeds are used to defray parish expenses.

Collection Counters
This is a team of dedicated parishioners who count the collection following the 10:00 am Mass on Sunday. Collectors rotate on a monthly basis.

Parish Janitor
The janitor is responsible for the regular maintenance of our facilities inside and outside. The janitor regularly assists the facilities manager.
Joseph Lamont, (215) 482-4264, ext. 13
Joe grew up in Manayunk and graduated from St. Mary's where he was an altar server and choir member. He first started working ehre at the parish in the summer of 1993. Joe is the second of three children. In his spare time, Joe enjoys biking, music, movies, surfing the web, and spending time with his family.
Food Services
This is a group of dedicated parishioners who prepare and serve food (from hot dogs & chips to formal dinners) for various parish functions. There are a variety of opportunities throughout the year to assist in this ministry.

Housekeeping
This is a team of people who thoroughly clean our rectory, meeting rooms, Horner Hall, and church. They commit to this weekly ministry on Tuesday and Wednesday under the direction of the facilities manager.

Ladies Aid Society
This is a group of women who support other ministries at various outreach and fundraising events in the parish such as: Bingo, 4th of July, Flea Market, and Pot Pie Sale. Members of this group also participate in the St. Joseph and St. Mary Societies offering of Masses for the deceased. They work closely with the facilities manager.

St. Joseph's Club
This is team of talented people who use their creative gifts as trade men and women, around our properties and in our facilities: assisting with various projects, and making improvements. They help also with the landscaping and removal of snow under the direction of the facilities manager.

Office Manager
The office manager is responsible for various administrative functions including: weekly parish bulletin, monthly parish calendar, maintenance of parishioner data records, ordering rectory supplies, and maintenance of rectory office equipment and telephones. The office manager directly oversees the coordinators for communication and office helpers.

Mary Beth is a lifelong member of St. Mary's parish. Following graduation from Hallahan High School, she worked at North Light Community Center. She then went back to school, earning degrees in accounting and nursing, and has worked for the American Red Cross. She began volunteering at St. Mary's in 2004, and became office manager in 2005. Mary Beth is married to Joe and is the mother of three daughters. She has a granddaughter and second grandchild arriving in June 2006.
Office Helpers
This is a team of people who assist the office manager by answering the phone, record keeping, filing and other clerical work. If you have clerical skills and a friendly smile, we could use you on our team.
Communications
This is a group of people that addresses the communications needs of the parish such as bulletin, web site, emails, press releases, and parish mailings.
