What are the Pastoral Ministries?
Not unlike the mission of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, the mission of the pastoral ministries of St. Mary's is to evangelize. These ministries are dedicated to helping people grow in their faith and love of Jesus Christ. The Education, Membership, Respect Life, and Stewardship Ministries are under the direction of the Director of Pastoral Ministries. The director and the leaders of these ministries serve and support both the parishioners and surrounding community in St. Mary's.
Education
The Education Ministry presents the opportunity for parishioners to continually grow and mature in their journey of faith. Through different programs, workshops, materials, and resources, it provides different avenues of learning about our Catholic Faith in a practical way. At the same time this ministry pays attention to helping others to live out their faith while meeting the challenges of life.
Membership
The Membership Ministry consists of a group of parishioners who are committed to helping people become full and active members of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. The group meets with and informs potential parishioners about the vision, mission, and parish life at St. Mary's. The group alos concerns itself with "re-membering" those who are already parishioners.
Respect Life
The Respect Life Ministry is devoted to promoting and supporting all human life. It is an informative voice of the Church in the parish and community regarding issues of life. This group provides materials and spiritual support to those who are in need. It also sponsors activities that celebrate the gift of life: Blood Drive, CPR classes, Angel Giving Tree.
Stewardship
This is a team of people who empower parishioners to be good stewards of their time, talent, and treasure (money). We lovingly give back to God in response to his generosity to us. The committee uses programs such as Network and the Good Sense Program to bring this vision to the parish.
