Congratulations to Earl and Eleanor Schommer on their 50th wedding anniversary!! It was a great celebration and a great witness to all the parishioners here at St. Mary's.

While roller skating in Norristown, Earl spotted Eleanor as she gracefully skated around the rink. They fell in love, married each other and now have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Earl spent 25 years working for the Philadelphia Fire Department. These days he enjoys reading westerns and science fiction and occasional woodworking. The Schommers have a long history with St. Mary's, in fact, Earl graduated from St. Mary's in 1947. They both remember when St. Mary's had a bowling alley, a dancing club and a men's club. Mr. Schommer's great-great-great-grandmother is buried in St. Mary's front graveyard.
